Pay Type: Hourly rate, bi-weekly.

Work Location: 6631 County Hwy M, Evansville, WI 53536.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, with available overtime hours/pay. Hours vary during the year/season. The Manager will give advance noticed on weekly schedules/hours.

  • Spring/Early Summer (Agronomy Planting Season) Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm (including possible weekend hours)
  • Mid-Late Summer/Fall Hours/Winter: Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm.

Agronomy Plant Operator (Class A CDL) Essential Responsibilities:

ALCIVIA is looking for an Agronomy Plant Operator assists with the day-to-day agronomy operations to ensure agronomy products are delivered and applied according to customer expectations and products are received, stocked, and stored properly and records and inventory are maintained. This position will provide technical support for safe and efficient delivery of crop nutrients and chemical pesticides which is essential for proper crop growth and development. During the offseason (Winter months) the Agronomy Plant Operator will be making minor repairs/adjustments to machinery, preventive maintenance work on equipment and facilities, grain/feed production work, and may be assigned to work in other areas within the facility to help support other Business Units.

  • Precisely blend crop dry/liquid fertilizer and pesticides using a computer control system
  • Track incoming/outgoing crop fertilizer and pesticides as it pertains to inventory control
  • Coordinate dispatch of Crop Application Equipment along with side dress applicators
  • Assist with dispatching trucks and spray/applicator equipment to members
  • Assist with operating Commercial Sprayers and Dry Spreaders, application of wet and dry agronomy products to crop fields for our members (customers)
  • Assure accuracy and efficiency in servicing farm applications
  • Daily paperwork and inspections
  • Maintain and assist with repairing the Agronomy equipment
  • Report all machinery malfunctions and ensure repairs are completed
  • Work closely with members to exceed customer expectations
  • Support cross-divisional collaboration whenever possible in Animal Nutrition, Grain, and Energy business units
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

Agronomy Plant Operator (Class A CDL) Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in agriculture or related field is a plus
  • Class A CDL required (will help obtain)
  • Clean driving record required
  • Previous agriculture experience preferred
  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery is a plus
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and fertilizers
  • Working in outdoor conditions year-round
  • Varied work schedule and hours based on season and weather conditions
  • Build member relationships by listening and reacting to the needs of customers
  • Basic mathematical skills for mixing chemicals properly
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Organize work and efficiently allocate time to complete work
  • Take pride and ownership in the maintenance of equipment and facilities
