Description

Summary: This position is responsible for the daily performance and training of New Vision Co-op’s Agronomy Sales employees in order to grow sales for New Vision Co-op and increase customer retention and engagement. Additionally, it is responsible for building programs to promote New Vision agronomy sales in conjunction with the Agronomy Department Manager. This position, in cooperation with the Agronomy Department Manager will be responsible for setting the P&L of the Agronomy Department and work with supplier partners on programs that benefit the customers, business model and go-to-market strategy of New Vision Co-op.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead agronomy sales effort including sales and precision ag technician training and developing a consistent sales message for fertilizer, chemical, and seed and promote to customers.
  • Solicit large grower accounts and delegate the relationship to sales staff.
  • Support vendors as directed by the Agronomy Department Manager.
  • Develop and communicate individual sales and service objectives with the Agronomy Sales and Precision Ag personnel.
  • Comply with New Vision credit policy and assist with customer accounts receivables and collections.
  • Identify potential business opportunities or projects and coordinate with Agronomy Department Manager.
  • Establish sales goals and assign customers and prospects to sales personnel. Provide support by assisting with on-farm calls and hands on sales training.
  • Submit completed agronomy sales contracts to Agronomy Department Manager as directed.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints. Share relevant complaint information of customer comments to Supervisor.
  • Manage agronomy intern program.
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma/GED and a minimum of ten years of experience in agronomy sales; or Bachelor’s Degree in related field and five years of experience in agronomy sales. 
  • Familiarity with agricultural products, crop production cycles, and input management (fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, etc.). 
  • Experience in a leadership role managing sales teams or agronomy staff. 
  • Strong ability to negotiate deals, manage client relationships, and drive sales performance. 
  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Valid Driver’s License
