Gibbet Hill Farm is hiring for the Assistant Farm Manager position for the 2024 growing season. It is a salaried position running from March through December, with fluctuating hours depending on the month.

Gibbet Hill Farm (http://www.gibbethillfarm.com) is a 1.5 acre, minimal-till diversified farm located in Groton, MA. We farm a mix of vegetables, herbs, perennial fruit, microgreens, edible and cut flowers, along with raising a small herd of lambs and pigs. This will be our eighth season using a minimal till system and utilizing organic practices.

Our farm is part of the Webber Restaurant Group, an independent, family-owned restaurant group. We are primarily dedicated to supplying produce to the chefs at our restaurants. Due to the abundant productivity of the farm we were able to add a small CSA share running for 24 weeks to the program. A full team consists of the farm manager, assistant manager and two field crew members. The small size gives a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the farm: field preparation, compost development, seeding, planting, weeding, disease and pest prevention and treatment, harvesting, processing and deliveries. The assistant manager will also be expected to collaborate with the manager to maintain and improve existing systems as well as develop new systems with a view to continually improving the excellence of the farm and its contribution to the restaurant group and CSA members.

All members of the farm staff are encouraged to harvest produce for personal use and there is a free staff meal served daily in the restaurant at 3pm. The assistant manager receives a generous quarterly stipend which can be used at all the Webber Family Restaurants (Gibbet Hill Grill, The Bancroft, Scarlet Oak Tavern, and Double Bull Tavern). In addition, the assistant manager position benefits include a one-bedroom apartment located on site in the farmhouse.
