As an Agricultural Shop Mechanic, your more typical responsibilities will include:
Pre-deliver, inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair farm and agricultural equipment.
Order parts and prepare repair estimates.
Prepare accurate inspection and service reports and maintain other records as required.
Complete jobs and repair estimates.
Keep work areas clean and orderly.
Work in a safe manner.
Comply with company policies and government regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications Include:
1-3 years mechanic experience working on farm and agricultural equipment or similar.
High School diploma or equivalent experience. Technical or vocational degree in mechanical field strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills.
Willingness to learn.
Basic math skills.
Self-motivated.
Physical Effort: Service Technicians frequently stand for long periods of time, bend, lay, and crawl under to repair and service machines. They frequently lift parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. They must be able to maneuver on/under heavy equipment and on agricultural/construction sites with irregular terrain. Service technicians must be able to operate a motor vehicle during both day and night as well.
Working Conditions: Service Technicians work around hazards such as electrical, mechanical, and power equipment. They frequently have risk of exposure to chemicals, used oil, spent antifreeze, parts cleaning solvent, volatile hydrocarbons, battery acid, etc. There is often times adverse weather conditions that they must occasionally work in. There is often mists, fumes, dusts, and non-continuous noises of varying sound levels and intensities that regularly happen in the shop as well.
Travel: Little to none.
