Overview

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for technical phone support, inspections, and training of all product lines and Precision Ag products with an emphasis on application, planters and combines. The position provides technical support for customers and technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Manages customer inquiries via telephone, email, and text with technical questions on manufactured equipment, along with agriculture GPS based products used for machine guidance and control.
  • Provides advice, support, and repair orders to service teams by diagnosing and troubleshooting technical concerns.
  • Acts as a resource to the sales team for the promotion of the technology portfolio of products.
  • Develops sales activities and document activities in the CRM.
  • Maintains knowledge of agriculture technology products and those of our competitors.
  • Attends annual sales meetings and store sales meetings as directed or needed.
  • Responsible for the training of all new and existing equipment and technology for customers and associates.
  • Contacts customers and technicians to ensure technical support satisfaction.
  • Responsible for taking after-hours calls to assist customers and technicians
  • Documents calls and creates frequently asked questions database.
  • Assists with final inspections of equipment via remote support.
  • Conducts technology service and sales training in the off season.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of related experience in service, parts, or precision technology.
  • 2+ years of mechanical experience related to diagnostics of mobile electrical (12- or 24-volt DC) and hydraulic systems.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to do occasional same day and overnight travel
  • Ability to work flexible hours as business/customer needs require
  • Ability to operate agricultural equipment for the purpose of demonstration and training.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Able to troubleshoot products and systems over the phone with customers and technicians.
  • Demonstrate strong customer focus.
  • Written and verbal customer relations and communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite Software
  • Time management and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of competitive machines and precision Ag machinery.
  • Demonstrate sales skills conducive to assisting in the sales of precision products.

 

Preferred:

  • A two-year + degree.
