Agriculture Career and Technical Education Instructor Opportunity

What You’ll Do
As an Agriculture Career and Technical Education Instructor, you’ll provide the highest level of student learning and achievement in career and technical education. Provide instruction based upon FLDOE standards and creates a project-based learning environment that promotes applied learning activities that results in students earning industry certifications from the Master Credential List.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for:
- Implement appropriate instruction in accordance with state and industry standards. Designs. implements. prioritizes and delivers instruction in the content area that aligns to FLDOE state standards within CTE frameworks and provides hands-on and experiential learning activities. Creates a positive learning climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and positive rapport. Creates and delivers relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
- Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies, practices and methodologies that reflect and relate to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds to meet individual student needs. Efficient use of technology as a teaching tool to provide instruction and administer certification preparation and testing. Identify communication. collaboration and technology skills used to create engagement and prepare workforce readiness skills and employability skills. Engages in continuous professional development that includes earning and maintaining the appropriate industry certifications applicable to standards and content area taught.
- Actively engages with the local business and industry community to support program outcomes and provide potential job placement opportunities for student success. Model professional and ethical conduct while working with students and while present in an educational environment or setting. Observes and evaluates student performance and mastery of standards. utilizes data to modify and drive instruction and maintains grades and attendance. Assess and record student progress and competencies toward skill attainment and work readiness.
- Participate in the recruitment of students for the CTE programs. Assist in the organization of and participation in Career and Technical Education Advisory committees. Provides career exploration for industry occupations.
- Effectively communicates ideas, thoughts and directions, verbally and in writing. Exhibits good listening and comprehension skills with students and colleagues. Attends Florida Association for Career and Technical Education (FACTE) conferences, and workforce related trainings/workshops to stay current with industry trends.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor's degree or district/state certificate is required. A degree or formal training is preferred.
- Eligibility for district certification requires one of the following: A related bachelor's degree with two (2) years of related experience, a related associate degree (ANAS) with four (4) years of related experience, one (1) year of technical training with five (5) years of verifiable experience or six (6) years of full-time, in-field, verified work experience.
