Our farm is home to a variety of breeds of animals, small gardens, pastures, greenhouse and orchard.  It is a little bit of everything and a lot of love.  Our farm is nestled in the mountains, located in Sapphire, North Carolina.

We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Farm Hand/Caretaker to live in the provided on property housing and provide full-time, year round care for the animals and property.  This role requires a motivated individual (or couple) who is passionate about agriculture, animal husbandry and property maintenance. This individual will work closely with the owner to ensure the smooth operation of the farm including crop management, pet and livestock care, cabin and barn maintenance, equipment maintenance and the overall upkeep of the property.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily animal and livestock care
• Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding, vaccinations, pest management, equipment usage and maintenance needs
• Assist in daily farm operations
• Asssist with soil preparation, planting and pest management
• Perform routine maintenance on farm buildings, fences and other structures
• Conduct regular inspections of property and address any needed repairs/issues
• Make sure all cabins are ready for owner and other guests as needed
• Provide regular updates and reports to the owner.  Keep an open line of communication with the owner and other employees.
