Enza Zaden in Myakka City, Florida is looking for a highly motivated agronomic professional to join our team.

What are you going to do?

As a field Junior Agronomist for Enza Zaden you will ensure commercial crop quality results to facilitate Breeders plant selections at the Research and Development station. You may oversee workers that will help care for the crops for the benefit of breeding programs. You will be accountable for cultivation of a given crops all over the site (incl. climate control, crop protections, fertilization, irrigation) and documentation of incidents and procedures related to crop management. Ensuring all tasks within the crop trials are executed in such a way that it's aligned with the crop and financial/budget objectives. You are also responsible for local legal requirements, such as safety, inspections and accident reporting.

You will support the R&D team dynamics at the station, ensuring the culture of the local station is in line with Enza Zaden's values and principles.

You can work independently, but you are also able to work in cross-functional teams.

In short, you:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in the related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant work experience desired. 
• Must be able to operate and calibrate farm equipment; tractors, setup cultivators, irrigation systems and sprayers.
• Pesticide application license preferred or will need to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance of equipment ie.. check oil and hydraulic levels, grease implements.
• Working alongside field crew in transplanting, staking and tying of crops to get an understanding of these tasks.
• Works on Saturdays and holidays as necessary.
• Must be organized and have the want to keep equipment maintained and in good working order and clean.

Estimated salary pay range $56,100 ($26.97 per hour) to $68,100 ($32.74 per hour).
