RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the Adelante Mujeres Regenerative Agriculture and Land Access team, the Regenerative Agriculture Program Assistant helps in all aspects of the preparation and coordination of the regenerative agriculture education and training. The Program Assistant will promote a community space for participant engagement and intercultural exchange and support local beginning farmers that want to start private or commercial ventures. This will require frequent visits to the local community garden in Forest Grove and the farmland in Gaston. The Regenerative Agriculture Program Assistant will report to the Regenerative Agriculture and Land Access Manager. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Assist in all operational processes of the regenerative agriculture education and training calendar year. This includes but is not limited to development of course syllabus, supporting session activities, assist in recruiting participant, and planning special events.
  • Work closely with Regenerative Agriculture and Farm IncubatorCoordinator to determine and enforce garden rules
  • Support in the general maintenance and/ or work with contractors to keep garden maintained
  • Support marketing and outreach including development of promotional material (photography, video, simple edits) via various outlets including social media, website, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong commitment to the mission of the organization, environmental sustainability, employee well-being, and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • Associate's degree in education, agriculture, and farming systems or strongly related field or 2+ years of direct experience in regenerative agriculture.
  • Experience facilitating/teaching using popular education methods;
  • Experience working with the Latine community in regenerative agriculture practices, and local food distribution systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and lead projects or programs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Zoom, Canva, and other virtual platforms
  • Bilingual-Bicultural Spanish/English required

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in weekends, evenings and outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of up to 40 pounds and twist, bend, reach, stoop, carry weight, think strategically about how to properly move heavy items
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to various sites across Washington County on a timely basis
  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required.
